California Race Tracks: So Many World-Class Tracks, So Little Time
California has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to race tracks. Drivers in the Los Angeles area have three tracks that are about an hour away: Willow Springs, Streets of Willow, and Auto Club Speedway. Drive just a little further and there’s also Chuckwalla and Buttonwillow to choose from. Northern California drivers have three world-class tracks at their fingertips: Sonoma Raceway, Thunderhill, and the world-famous Laguna Seca.
There’s likely no other place on earth with such easy access to so many different tracks! And all of these tracks are used frequently by HPDE organizations putting on open track days. On any given weekend drivers can slap on the slicks and hit the track for a day or a full weekend.
